Uber Eats now has an option for buying cannabis in Ontario. Uber Technologies Inc is the process of allowing its users in Ontario, Canada, to order cannabis on its Uber Eats app. This will be the first time Uber will be joining the cannabis industry as Uber Eats lists its first cannabis retailer Tokyo Smoke on its app.
Can you get Uber Eats Weed Delivered?
Unlike its alcohol delivery option on the Uber Eats app, cannabis purchases made via Uber Eats will only be available for pickup. Currently you can do pickup (and with some even delivery) at most cannabis shops, which sort of renders this option in the Uber Eats app useless. But as they say, you gotta start somewhere, and while Uber has become a technology leader, they have not exactly turned much of a profit in many of its sectors.
While officials and legal cannabis stores continue to battle the cannabis grey market, who have long offered actual delivery and easy online ordering, one cannot help but ask the question (again and again) When will this failing battle on the grey market end?

Uber and its partnership with corporate chain dispensaries have said this will help Canadian adults purchase safe, legal cannabis, (as opposed to dangerous? grey market cannabis) and as you can expect, will be paying close to attention to the Ontario and Canada wide laws and legislation on weed delivery to be able to offer cannabis the same way it offers food in its Uber Eats app.

When will uber eats offer delivery?
An Uber spokesperson has stated “We will continue to watch regulations and opportunities closely market by market. And as local and federal laws evolve, we will explore opportunities with merchants who operate in other regions,”
Last year, Weedmaps removed all grey market weed delivery services (which is what built its platform to begin with) and slowly began to re-list those that are licensed.
